This song from FLY or DIE II rolls around in afestive style of Chicago jazz, where the beat locks into a two-stepping rhythm urging the rest of the band to surge forward as Branch’s horn and the cello soars above it. The eight-minute “nuevo” is probably the album’s most accessible track, a bright spot peering through the overcast. But while the album might seem a bit challenging at first hearing, the challenge is certainly worth the reward.
